"BIGG$ ROLLER (scene report)"

Saturday night is pretty much the coolest night of the week, and Cafe Coda is pretty much the coolest place in Chico, so it's no surprise that the coolest bands in the entire universe play there. Bee eye double-gee dollar sign roller is how I spell a Saturday evening of sipping on tea while watching history unfold on the dainty Coda stage. What exactly is Biggs Roller? It's a 401K, and like most retirement plans it starts out small and by the time incontinence and senility settle in, you'll be rich. At least that's the plan jeffyb has for Biggs Roller, a local musical foursome who represent Butte County and piss on the term "genre."
BR is comprised of bassist, guitarist, drums, and accordian. If you took any Dead Milkman song and mixed it with any song from a Mexican radio station, then added a dash of Carrot Top, you'd have a pretty good idea of BR's unique sound. Although the band's set on this particular night was short, it was sweet; not sweet like the stuff that gives you cancer to lab mice, but sweet like the unbleached hippie sugar that gives you super powers. Some added entertainment was provided by local sweetheart "Molly" and her famous flaming kitten juggling act, which she flawlessly executed while balancing on a wine glass. Perhaps the most mesmerinzing and enchanting aspect of the evening was the sexy black-and-white photographs that radiated beauty throughout the Cafe.
This band is so progressive that they use the metric system to measure their dicks, of which amounts to 62cm if you add them all up, and that's flaccid! So, if you weren't one of the peoples there on Saturday, fear not because BR will soon be playing near you. - Synthesis vol.13 iss.28 3.5.07

Bio

Biggs started as a recording project that turned into a quick flavor of the season in Chico,Ca..We are riding a nice wave from our local media and friends...This band does sound different..mostly because of the accordian....Each member is hyperactive and the songs are very progressive. The tunes were written acoustically and the short solo-esque (minstrel) songs stayed in that format. With the added flavor of dance drums, you'll be hopping around for about three minutes a tune. Influences coming from being locked up for being stupid, or becoming parents and taking care of business...life, love, sociapolitical awarness. Biggs Roller was nominated for a Cammie award for Bluegrass/Country in the recent April 2007 bid.
