"Blount Harvey - L!VE at The Pour House Music Hall - June 13, 2009"

"Blount Harvey really hit the jackpot, though, when one of Greenville's well-known emcees Big Hop jumped on stage to join the Blount Harvey 'fam.' This power player demonstrated his raw talent and didn't skip a beat, performing "YEAH!" with high energy from the first bar to the last. In fact, Big Hop managed to keep the crowd going nuts even wearing an arm sling due to a recent elbow injury."

"Music box: Big Hop"

"Hopkins followed up "Minute" with the November 2006 release of "My Own League," a smoothly cohesive album filled with Hop's fiercely independent spirit and socially intelligent rhymes backed by tight instrumental tracks from North Carolina producer..."

"In the Spotlight: Big Hop"

"Hey everybody!! I want to introduce you to a wonderful new up and coming rapper Big Hop straight out of Newport News, VA / Greenville, NC where he currently lives raps and DJ's for your listening pleasure. His new DVD and CD "Empty Boxes", is awesome. Some of my favorites already are "Fly with the Wind", "I Love the 80's", and "Reggae on the Radio." Some of the his songs hit home like a punch to the face reality check I felt, saw, and related to all of his stories in his music. Talent is all I hear in "Empty Boxes" and I personally think you should go out there and get yourself a copy today or even better go see him live on, The North Cack Tour."

Bio

Born and raised in Newport News, VA, Big Hop was always a fan of music. Early musical influences range from Motown, Rock, and Reggae music, along with hip hop. His first two tapes he owned were Beastie Boys, "Licensed to Ill," and the Violent Femmes self entitled LP.
He started playing a couple different instruments during his teens, and began dabbling with home recording on a Tascam 4-track recorder he received.
This led to a fascination with the art of recording and producing, as well as song writing.
During college, he began recording digitally with the help of former group mate, Trigga. The two together formed the Artistic Anarchists. performing locally and setting the groundwork for Hop's solo career.
Since 2005, Big Hop has been steadily releasing music and performing all over North Carolina, as well as Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia, building an ever growing fan base along the way.
Now with the releases of "Influenced", his drum-n-bass EP with DJ FM, and the "Investment" LP with producer StretchknockS, Big Hop is looking to spread his wings farther with regional tours, managerial relationships, promotion, etc.
