Bio

Big Kev. A simple name with more than a simple explanation. While Hip Hop was being reared from the underground in the Bronx, Kevin Davis was being raised to be able to take the underground to new levels. Brought up in a single parent home in the Residence Park neighborhood of Dayton, Ohio, Kevin was being introduced to poverty just as he was introduced to Hip Hop. His mother, just 17 at his birth, instilled in him the values of honesty, loyalty, and hard work. Things he still holds dear to this day. Kevin was a skinny kid, out raking leaves for a few extra dollars when he realized what he wanted to do with his life. "It just came to me. I knew I would be involved in big business from that point on. I saw myself in a suit, and in my office." While other ten year olds had dreams of being a fireman or a policeman, Kevin started working on his entrepreneurial vision.

When he met his friend and now business partner, Drupy, aka Calvin Lane, during their undergraduate time at Tennessee State University, things got much more serious. "We both knew it wasn't a game anymore. It was time for us to step it up and learn the game." They began recording immediately, while Kev maintained his college hustle of producing and recording demo tapes for local students. Meanwhile Kev and Drupy were laying the foundation for what is now Hunnedspoke Entertainment. They were soon known all over campus as the premier rap duo. The built a strong campus following just battling on campus and performing in local talent shows. As word continued to spread. Kev was soon courted to be the music producer for several on campus events, and pageants. Kevin even performed at a talent show, sponsored by Coca-Cola and 92Q in Nashville, in which he didn't win, but did manage to raise $500 for a little girl who had been diagnosed with cancer.

At 24 years old, Kevin is the currently the Co-owner and operator of Hunnedspoke Entertainment, a label which he started with some friends in 1997. Now based in the heart of country music USA, Kevin is pushing forth with his vision for the label and all of its' newly formed endeavors. Including Hunnedspoke Films, and it's non-profit entity, The HunnedKids Youth Initiative. A program he is building to be able to take inner city kids, and give them access to the resources and money they need in order to take their minds and bodies outside of the typical ghetto experience, and towards success. "I was able to get out of the hood from time to time and just see how other people live, everybody doesn't get to do that. I want these kids to see that, and know that they can change their lives right now."

Kevs' bachelors degree in English is barely a reflection of the vision, passion, and business saavy of this individual. He is so much more than a rapper, its' too small a word for him. He is a mogul, earning his respect to be named in the same breath as P. Diddy, Jay Z, Dame Dash and Russell Simmons. "I think like this, they're the godfathers of this industry. They all got an area which they control. The Midwest and Mid-south region was left open. So now it's mine. Thank you Godfather."
