Born and raised in the small town of Williamsford, Ontario, Mike grew up listening to country greats such as Waylon Jennings, Don Williams, Merle Haggard and the likes.
Mike taught himself to play the guitar at age 14, made his stage debut at 15, and began writing songs at 16. As a teen, Mike moved to Calgary, Alberta where he discovered and embraced the stylings of modern country heroes such as Travis Tritt and Mark Chesnutt. These performers laid the foundation for Mike’s love of the traditional country sound.

Big Mike's charismatic personality consistently shines through in his energetic stage shows. With his music influences it's no secret why there's dancing room only when he's up on stage.

Mike has shared the "microphone" with the likes of Julian Austin, Gil Grand, Duane Steele, Jake Mathews, Blue Rodeo, Black Hawk, Gary Allan, Jimmy Rankin and Steve Fox and, has been slowly putting his hands on the songwriters hammer, and building his way to the top with some new material.

His latest project consists of some dynamic songwriting talent such as: Steve Fox, Buddy Jewel, Jim McBride, Johnny Reid, Big Kenny, just as an example, and a release date is nearing.
