Bio

Big Pete Pearson has been singing the blues for over 50 years, landing in Phoenix by way of Austin Texas. He was raised by his grandparents in St. Johns, a Baptist community just outside Austin where his grandfather was a minister and his grandmother ran a local mission. In Austin, he was known as L.P. Pearson and played his first gig at age 9 at the Triple J, a local beer joint. His grandparents thought he was playing guitar and singing with a spiritual group at church.
Big Pete first arrived in Phoenix in the late 1950s, finally settling there in the mid-'60s. Along the way he sat in with T-Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, Little Junior Parker, B.B. King, Bobby Blue Band, Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and many others.
Big Pete's first national album, "I'm Here Baby" has earned international acclaim on radio shows and in reviews. Living Blues wrote, "I'm Here Baby" is "a highly rewarding set from one of the music's unsung masters." Big City Blues penned, "Big Pete's vocals remain bold and authentic" delivered with "authority and experience."
With the release of "I'm Here Baby" Big Pete steps into the national spotlight--the CD was nominated for two Independent Music Awards in the Best Blues Album and Best Blues Song categories for 2007 releases.
A longtime beloved European performer, Big Pete is played Paris and the Lucerne Blues Festival in November 2007 before a holiday season of shows in his hometown of Phoenix. In 2008, Big Pete is taking his act on the road and is booking shows and festivals across the country.
