"BIGREC – “RHHIB Pt. 2? (mixtape and interview)"

"If you’ve been out a few times to some of the shows around town, you’re sure to have ran into BIGREC. I heard of him for the first time a few years ago when his group THE-5IVE was opening for either Killer Mike or Little Brother, I can’t remember. But I do remember this brolic, energetic dude stealing the show. Since then he’s been doing more solo stuff and he’s starting to build a name for himself around the city and the country actually." - www.MAURICEGARLAND.com

"BIGREC - SUMTHIN2SAY"

"The difficulty of lacing a beat with double-time flows is twofold: not only must you possess the stamina and agility to maintain your pace, but you’ve gotta have SUMTHIN2SAY to fill all those extra syllables. Booth newcomer BIGREC, for one, has both those bases covered – for proof, simply flip on his latest single, which finds the ATLien and two equally speedy colleagues packing the rap equivalent of The Iliad into a brisk five minutes." - - Richard, DJBooth.net (Feb 23, 2011)

"BIGREC - mistaBIGstuff"

"Featured this past February, BIGREC‘s Booth debut found the Southern spitter teaming up with Booth faves Playboy Tre and Tom P. to demonstrate just how many syllables he could cram into 16 braggadocious bars. While his double-time flows were dazzling, to be sure, that record’s hypercharged rhymesmith is just one facet of the Oklahoma City-bred New Orleans repper’s musical persona; on newly-leaked mixtape cut mistaBIGstuff (a Booth-exclusive world premiere!), REC introduces us to a more laid-back—but no less attention-grabbing—side of his swag. Spitzwell mans the boards, borrowing a slow-rolling horn-organ groove from N.O. soul songstress Jean Knight’s classic record of the same name, and REC comes with outsized rhymes to match, touting his prodigious skills as well as giving listeners a little biographical detail. On the back, he offers those digging the cut a friendly suggestion: “Change your Facebook status, spread the word about the fact / Tell the world that real hip-hop feeling is back.” If you were impressed enough to follow his advice, then you’re sure to enjoy the rest of the fresh tunes that await on RHHIB Mixtape, Volume 2 [The DiRECtive], dropping Sept. 27, via RealHipHopIsBack.com. "The Broken Record - BIGREC"

"The best way to describe this artist’s flow is simply raw. His delivery, lyrical content, style, stage presence…basically his whole package is just RAW. Anyone who has ever seen this man perform knows that I can only be talking about BIGREC. Being a consistent favorite at Atlanta’s Apache Café, he has packed out the venue on countless occasions and also traveled the country with his colossal performance. When this guy gives a show, he gives a SHOW…I mean, be prepared to be like “Whoa! Slow down son you’re killin ‘em!” (in your best Diddy voice) LOL" - ThatGirlDe, The Broken Record (Sep 07, 2010)

"BIGREC – ‘Sumthin 2 Say’ feat. Playboy Tre & Tom P"

"
BIGREC, arguably one of Atlanta’s most gargantuan performers reppin’ that real hip hop links up with Playboy Tre & Tom P to remind cats that the South does have some REAL artists. Some of you maybe familiar with Big Rec from his work with his group ‘The 5ive’, but prior to them linking up as a group they were all solo artists. Check out this banger right here coming off of Big Rec’s ‘RHHIB: PreRECuisite, Volume 1.5' mixtape. The song was produced by none other than The Produce Section. Do the damn thang!" - Jay Force, JAYFORCE.COM (Feb 19, 2011)

"ARTIST OF THE WEEK - BIG REC"

"Big Rec brings a new refreshing vantage point to hip hop as he adds intelligence to his lyrics. Ala KRS-1 back in the day with the BDP movement. Some artist choose to follow others and there are a few artist like Big Rec whom choose to stand alone in this war. The artist that always gain the most normally have a way of seeing their prize well in advance..." - Craig Lane, CONTACT ATLANTA

"REAL HIP HOP IS BACK"

"Yo, It goes WITHOUT sayin what REC is doing both performance wise,on CD & on radio. If you have SEEN him perform, LISTENED to his CD and HEARD him on the radio then you KNOW what his talent is! REC is only ONE of what should be MANY more who approach the culture of Hip Hop with the same kind of perspective." - Aaron Bernard, KJMM 105.3-FM [Tulsa, OK]

"BIG REC - "Real Hip Hop (Is Back)""

"This track is straight heat! When I first heard it, I was like 'this shit right here... this shit right here ...' (in my Katt Williams voice).

This is the viral single "Real Hip Hop (Is Back)" from the Atlanta underground emcee BIG REC (aka REConcile). The production is crazy (produced by FirstBorn) and may cause you to blow out your speakers.

'The song is a movement fam ... Been picking up real heavy out in the ATL underground,' Big Rec said. Track is too heavy not share! Definitely feeling this joint." - The Mad Bloggers

Bio

Since relocating to Atlanta from Tulsa, Oklahoma, the New Orleans-born emcee has consistently been making waves in the ATL hip-hop scene. His powerful delivery & commanding stage presence have both captivated audiences & garnered the attention of hip-hop notables, including legendary producer/emcee DIAMOND D (of D.I.T.C. fame). The pair are set to release their full-length project “Doomsday” in 2013.

BIGREC is a man on a mission. As the founder of the RHHIB (REAL HIP HOP IS BACK) Movement, he aims to musically bridge the gap between hip-hop’s mainstream & underground, while closing the generational distance between youth & elders.
