Bio

Big Red Marbles is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Andrew Boze. Born in 1989, Boze spent the first eighteen years of his life in the small town of Kaufman, Tx. During his early years, Boze was surrounded primarily by popular music of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. When he reached the age of fifteen, Boze began writing songs of his own and taught himself how to play the guitar. After trying his hand at several styles of music, including hip-hop and punk, Boze created Big Red Marbles at the end of 2007. Originally a side project from his Dallas-based band Jump Up Jamie (later changed to The Guillotones), Big Red Marbles was simply an outlet for Boze to release songs that reflected what would ultimately become his primary genres: folk and alternative country. After moving to Austin, Tx in 2008 and consequently disbanding The Guillotones, Boze turned his full attention to Big Red Marbles and began recording rough albums in his apartment. He released his first album, Stereotypical from a Typical Stereo, online in the fall of 2008. After its digital release, Boze began playing shows under his new moniker. He released another collection of songs, the Where I’ve Been EP, in the fall of 2009. Boze’s music eventually caught the ear of popular Austin musician Danny Malone, who then invited Boze to visit his recording studio Hot Tracks!!!. As a result of Malone’s invitation, Boze’s first full-length studio album, Barbed Wire Blood, is currently in production and is to be released sometime later in 2010.
