"Big River"- Debut Album Released Jan 2010, DigStation, CDBaby, Itunes

There are those things in life that have to be properly aged before they are enjoyed, like fine wine or cheese. Then there are those things that, like good old fashioned chocolate cake, are just fantastic from the get-go! That would definitely be the case for the newly formed band, Big River Bluegrass. Although these performers have only been together for less than a year, they have intertwined their respective talents to form a solid sound that is fresh and polished but still firmly straight-ahead bluegrass. From the time-honored sounds of the Stanley Brothers to cutting edge "new grass" this band is extremely versatile.
Joining forces in February of 2009, the members of Big River Bluegrass are not strangers to the performance stage having each been a part of the musical world for many years. Consisting of Scotty French on guitar, Carolyne Van Lierop on banjo, Crystal Owens on stand-up bass, Rhonda Lewis singing vocals, Sue Kittredge on fiddle and Steve Reeths on mandolin, this group of singers and musicians have a harmonic blend usually only found in seasoned bands or family groups. Performing many original, but soon to be classic, bluegrass cuts from their new album to be released January of 2010, as well as timeless classics both traditional and gospel, Big River Bluegrass seems to strike a chord with every member of the audience. And with five different vocalists representing five distinct sounds, audience members never tire of hearing "one singer". In addition, these musicians have definitely mastered their crafts. With instrumental numbers that thrill at the speed of sound to moving instrumental hymns that pull at every heart string there is no denying the talent contained in this group.
Their debut album is entitled Big River and contains 14 tracks that are truly going to turn heads to this young group. Their album release concert has officially been set for February 27, 2010 in downtown Panama City, FL at the Martin Theatre. And just like that chocolate cake, it won't be long before word gets out that there's something good coming up and everyone will want to make sure they're around to enjoy it! Bon Appetite!
