Better than Flowers

Written By: Alex Carmichael

Title:- Better than Flowers
Written by Alex Carmichael 2007

I hope you like this better than flowers,
I want to make it up to you.
We can make love for hours and hours,
I'll show you what we can do.

I can be gentle to the touch,
And warm with my thoughts.
You'll feel all my love shine on though.
I love you so much.
It hurts when we touch.
Is there anything more that I can do, To make it up to you.

I hope you like this better than flowers,
I want to make it up to you.

I hoped you’d like that, better than chocolate,
I want to make it up to you.
With eyes a glaze and happy face,
I want to make love to you.

I want to make love,
Not fight and just break love.
I want start, this love a new.
I want to make love.
I don’t want a fake love.
I wanna make it with you.

I hope you like this better than flowers,
I want to make love to you.

Johnstone Cowboy

Written By: Alex Carmichael & Len Lightfoot

2006

I’m a Johnstone cowboy
Riding along in a souped up Mondeoooo o

1.
I’ve been living in this scheme, since 1917
Or so it seems,
I’ve always hid my fear,
By drinking lots of beer, and Jim Beams.

2.
When I wear my Stetson hat,
The lassies fancy that,
But I don’t care,
For the cowgirl that ‘s for me, she doesn’t even see
That I ‘am there.

Chorus
And if I make my bid, Just like the Sundance kid
They’ll be no raindrops fallin’ on my head

3.
Well I’d seen her from a far,
At the Oklahoma bar
She looked so fine.
With boots up to her hips
And ruby coloured lips,
Just like her wine.

4.
Well It was a Karaoke night
And the atmosphere was right
I took my chance,
she turned her gaze to me,
and I could plainly see, It was romance

5.
Well she listened to my song
And It wasn’t very long, ‘till we were one
-Fulfilling all my dreams
Drinking beer and beams, in to the sun

Chorus2
And now I’ve made my bid, Just like the Sundance kid
There ain’t no raindrops fallin’ on my head

6.
Well I had been living in that scheme, since 1917
Or so it seemed,
I’ve gotten over aw ma fear,
And stopped Ma drinking beer and Jim Beams. (AYE IN HIS DREAMS)

7.
When I wear my Stetson hat,
The lassies fancy that,
But I don’t care,
For the cowgirl that ‘s for me, sits upon my knee
And I ‘am in there (AND THERE’s NAE MARE)

Bad Singing Blues Boy

Written By: Alex Carmichael

2006

I don't have much in life and what I got was free,
But there's only one thing that God did give to me.
You see I play my guitar up and down the street,
I make a few bob from people that I happen just to meet.

I play the Beatles with a new found melody,
But when it comes to singing, he never gave tae me.
I'm a bad singing busking blues boy.
I'm a bad singing busking blues boy.

I don't need foreign coins or yer cast off greazy chips,
I'm trying to make some money tae put drink across ma lips.
And if you ask me honey, I'l play it just for you,
Fur when you've been drinkin' yer singing's rotten too!

So when your at the dancing, restuarant or pub,
And this sweetest sound is chanting oot ma melodic gub.
I will nae feel so guilty when you put ma song tae shame,
'Cause you gave me yer last fiver, fur yer taxi fair back hame.

I play the Beatles with a new found melody,
I played it in C but you sang it in G.
I'm a bad singing busking blues boy.
I'm a bad singing busking blues boy.

And when you're doing yer shopping and I'm singing, Love me do,
And over comes the Man in uniform of blue.
He said ye canny play yer guitar around here ma son,
cause yer singing is givin' a headache tae everyone.

We All Brave The Weather

Written By: Alex Carmichael

1.
We all brave the weather,
But Scotland We love you
We all sing together,
A, verse, of flower or two

Bridge
But we all look back, when the nights were dark
With nothing more to do,
We all brave the weather,
(But) Scotland we love you

2.
We all hope together
The sun will shine on you
We can cross a river
Or walk a hill or two

Bridge

Chorus
In days gone bye, We would fight them for our lands
With a sword and stone, burning in our hands
But now these days, It doesn’t have to be
It’s time to set us free X 2

3.
We’re not seeking glory
Together we’ll pull through
A Creation of a story
A Nation fair and true

Bridge

Chorus
