Lyrics

All This Time

Written By: Robert Cunningham

I spent a lifetime chasing dreams
Holding on for just one reason to believe
I never found serenity
In new age religion or Zen philosophy
Never thought that I could find
Such a peaceful state of mind
I searched for beauty and for truth
When all this time it was you
I've travelled all around this world
Looking for answers from wise men and from fools
I went to Paris toured the Louvre
No art could match the beauty that I find in you
Seems so strange I coudn't see
What was right in front of me.
Yeah through it all I'd been confused cause all this time it was you
Yeah through it all I'd been confused
Cause all this time, all this time, all this time it was you

Jeannie Says

Written By: Rob Cunningham

JEANNIE SAYS

Jeannie says
There’s no need to stand apart
From the longing in our hearts
That’s what Jeannie says
And Jeannie says
We’ve got to cross the line
There’s precious little time
That’s what Jeannie says

I stood a hard and cautious man
Uncertain at the start
Wary of the promises
That might beguile a heart
But now I gladly spend each minute every day
Loving her and listening to the things
That Jeannie says

Jeannie says
If we just ignore our fears
We’ll avoid the pain and tears
That’s what Jeannie says
And Jeannie says
No plan can be too bold
Cause it’s so soon that we grow old
That’s what Jeannie says

Now I’m prepared to follow
Wherever she may lead
And if she asks I’ll swallow my pride
And gracefully concede
That I hope to spend the rest of my days
Loving her and listening to the things
That Jeannie says

Jeannie says
I love to hear what Jeannie says
Jeannie says
Oh whatever Jeannie says
Everything she says
Somehow I trust what Jeannie says

I typically start the night with a half hour set mixing originals(All This Time, Better Days, Without You, Comong Home, Jeannie Says) and covers(American Girl, I've Just Seen a Face, Don't Be Cruel). Depending on the amount of participants I can fill the remainder of the evening, if neccessary, with songs from my extensive set list.
