Bi-Level: Bi-Level is an impressive four-piece rock band that has such a solid and tight sound on stage, it is almost overwhelming. Many bands that come through the St. Louis area backed with a record deal and a tour manager are not even in the same league as these guys. Guitarist Bob Nelson has a super-smooth rhythm guitar sound as he plays through solid chord patterns; just when the audience seems to want it bad enough, he breaks into unpredictable guitar melodies. Singer/bassist Adam Barr has a natural stage presence and keeps the show entertaining. He puts everything he has into the show and comes across as someone who truly enjoys performing; as a result, the audience seems to enjoy the set, as well. The band had no trouble making full use of the big stage when they played the Pageant last month: Hopefully, there will be many more shows to come. - Playback STL

“I read a bit about Bi-Level before I actually heard their music. After hearing this, I am not sure as to why anyone compared them to Goldfinger, but I have to agree with the Jimmy Eat World comparison. This is the type of EP that will draw you into it right from the opening track "Calling." The guitars are smooth but are obviously influenced by heavier driven rock music, but they will make you want to move. The vocals are amazing with no screaming, and remind me a lot of Chris Johnson (Autopilot Off). Throughout the 6 tracks, the music is pop punk influenced with great bass lines, good harmonies (see "Switch Places"). There isn't a bad song of the 6 and if you like one song you will like them all. I hope the scene welcomes Bi-Level with open arms because we need a band like this to hit.”

“Dubbed as “rock for the masses” by the band themselves, this is one of those rare occasions where the music actually lives up to the hype. “The Songbird” may only contains six songs but these boys damn well make sure every single one of them counts. Lots of energy and lots of hooks in a nice little pop punk package. If this isn’t already getting butt loads of airplay then I predict it will in the very near future. My favorite track is “Calling” just because the vocals sound like the Gang Of Four on the verses.”

"Awesome vocals that are so sugar-coated in melody that it just blows the hair off my head. Super energetic with fun-filled and entertaining songs that are ridiculously catchy, Bi-Level boasts a sound similar to Jimmy Eat World. Pop-punk without that obnoxious mall rat attitude that dominates so much of the Warped Tour fodder these days. Enjoyable bass lines that pull you closer to the driving guitar rhythms are punched up several notches by the simplistic but durable drumming. Excellent"

“This a very straight forward and rocking group when it comes to laying down some serious foot
tapping tunes.”

Bio

Bi-Level is a super-charged rock and roll quartet consisting of members Adam Barr on bass, lead vocals and piano, Robert Nelson on guitars and back up vocals, Robb Martinez on guitars and vocals, and Quentin Hassell on drums. Bi-Level's music appeals to a broad audience of rockers who have tired of the mindless pabulum found on the corporate radio machines. The music is revolt-rock and roll for the masses. The medicine is delivered via quick tempo bursts, distorted guitars and melodic yet abrasive harmonious vocals with bass lines and drum fills to keep the needle on rhythmic target.
