"Best Shows of 2006"

Roaring back from hiatus Billbones looked leaner & meaner heading into '07. The set was typical Billbones - non-stop party rock and at the end the crowd rushed the staged to join the band for some dancing. The bands buzz song "American Radio" got the biggest crowd response of the night.

"The Band for You..."

"One of my biggest thrills as a roving music photog is hearing good buzz on a new band, then catching them live and they not only live up to but exceed expectations. This was the case tonight with one of my new faves Billbones..............Over the past six months Billbones has gradually evolved into one of the most consistently fun & hard rockin' acts in NYC. The band mixes together their own blend of New York via London underground rock with hard chargin' cover tunes & a take no prisoners stage show. Most shows you go see in the city people in the crowd just kinda scratch their chins and slowly nod along. But at a Billbones show you might see a 40 year old wino holding a flask while doing the twist in the front row or a couple of barely legals hooting along as they dance on a couch - its come as you are anything goes. Theres no posing here, just a band playing "get up, have a beer, and shake your ass!" music and the crowds seem to get larger & more energetic with every show. The band definitely vibes off their energy on stage steadily gaining momentum song by song. If you like to party & listen to Rock N' Roll this may be the band for you." - Nev Brown - Nev Brown

Bio

Forged in the cobbled streets of west London and cultivated in the crooked alleys of New York City, Billbones have arrived with a new, yet classic sound, and the sole purpose of restoring energy and craft to the NYC music scene. Soaring guitars, pounding drums, and vintage melodies combine to create a sound somewhere between The Beatles and a feverous New York summer day.

Mike Fleizach, Neil Kumar, Jon LaPrade, and Josh Hammer are the musicians and characters that create this unique sound. Mike and Josh met as New Yorkers living in London the autumn of 2003. Collectively they began to piece together a plan to unite the craft and precision of the contemporary British music scene with explosive energy and fun of the New York City scene of yesteryear. After laying down the foundations for what would later become Billbones, they found themselves unable to forge ahead in the face of lingering obstacles which needed to be dealt with. Both went on their separate ways for a couple of years, only to realize in 2005 that their joint vision was ready to flourish. With Josh then living in NYC's upper east and Mike living downtown they were finally ready to commence. It wasn't until they found Jon "The Bird" LaPrade, a master with the sticks, and Neil Kumar, a childhood friend of Josh, whose bass chops were ripe and ready to be heard, that the pulsating and powerful rhythm section was born. Each brought innovation, quality, and a classic beauty that finally created the Billbones sound that comes to you today.
