"Like wading through a field of golden grain in the middle of downtown
Baltimore; Bill Jamieson mixes quirky-folk sincerity and big-city sensibility. Add to that a fine layer of blues and rock resting on
top like the head on a pint of Guinness, and what you end up with is both gratifying and eminently refreshing.
Bill was always destined to be a voyager. From a childhood spent hopping from home to home with his parents, to the depths of soul-searching that come to him in the quiet hours of the early morning on some mountain road, one almost expects to find him sitting in the corner of a roadside diner, whenever and wherever we happen to come out of the rain, only to disappear on his way to some other place.
But in all honesty, Bill belongs around a quiet fire, in the middle of the woods or in someone's backyard, singing tunes of love, loss, and the walk we all take down life's road. And as the flames and the music dance their way together into the night, one can almost hear the souls of Country-Folk, Rock, and Blues echoing along. We close our eyes and see the spirits of Hendrix, Morrison, and Townes Van Zandt weaving in and out of the smoke with the heat of Springsteen and Pearl Jam and the scents of John Prine, Grace Potter, and Gillian Welch. But when we open our eyes, all we see is this simple songwriter, part philosopher and part everyman, smiling and playing his heart and the night away. "
