Bill’n Jay Cool Beans formed in February 2007 to present a program for special needs kids. Singer/songwriter Bill Quinn, African drummer Jay Stoller and 3 choral students perform repertoire inspired by songs from music therapy. Lots of singalongs ‘n movement create a new unique show for everyone.


Bill Quinn is a 25 year veteran of the music scene in Winnipeg. He was a founding member of the EASY Ts vocal group, which recorded 4 albums and toured Canada, the U.S. and Iceland. Recently, he has performed with Small Rooms, a folk trio and InClineation.
Bill has also been a choral and music director in Winnipeg schools for many years,
most recently at Dakota Collegiate and Balmoral Hall.

Jay Stoller

While living in Ghana, West Africa for 4 years, Jay learned intimately the rhythms and drumming style of the region. Jay brings his love of the region and its culture to the music of Bill and Cool Beans. Jay has been a sponsored artist in the Manitoba Artist in the Schools program for 5 years. He also performs with Bafana, the Desert Caravan and the Ghanian Cultural Dancers.

Cool Beans

Cool Beans is a vocal group comprised of students who met in performing arts productions at Dakota Collegiate. They have performed in schools and as anthem singers for Winnipeg Goldeyes and Manitoba Moose games.


The group recorded a 4 song demo at Midocean Studios in Winnipeg in 2007.They hope to complete their first album in the summer of 2008.

Set List

Bill 'n Jay and Coolbeans can play sets of 30, 45 and 60 minutes. Set list inludes originals such as "The Hello Song" "Somewhere in the Jungle" "Clouds" , "Jump Up Step Back" and "Goodbye". Folk favorites include "This Old Man" and "Bingo". Covers include Beatles kids tunes "Yellow Submarine" "Octopus' Garden" and the Weavers "Wimoweh (Lion Sleeps Tonight)".
