"Satriani has met his match"

You could very easily say that Satriani has met his match. This album is unlike anything you have ever heard; the range of styles is huge, no two songs sound alike. I hope his next CD is just as good as this one. - Ryan Morency, LeClaire, IA/CDBaby Purchaser

"London"

Having done recordings with Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani) and Mike Mangini (Extreme, Steve Vai) Bill Lonero is an accomplished guitarist whose music carries a passionate driving force and sparks of that Satriani's magnificent Surfing with the Alien kinda style. Needless to compare Slather to the former one, seemingly a well crafted electric instrumental album, that holds itself excellently together with mad energy - James/Panartist.com Review

"Hypnotica Live"

BRAVO MAN! This is the most interesting 2 min. sampling of guitar virtuosity that I've heard in a long time. My name is Steve and I'm a player from upstate NY. I stumbled upon your site and I was pleasantly stunned by your flash intro so I poked around a little more, played the Slather exerpt and I've gotta tell ya...That is an incredibly well constructed groove there! It was refreshing to hear an actual "song" come from another player as opposed to just quick scales played over and over again. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the speedy stuff as much as the next guy but the style you've put forth here demands more out of the rest of the band you play with. That is very impressive playing, writing, damn even the mix is good! I'm looking forward to hearing some more of your stuff and will check this site again soon. Good luck with the album Bill!

All I can say is "freakin whoooooaaaaaa" I love it. Reminded me of alot of different things, yet nothing at all familiar. I am a very open minded musical taste tester, you got something dude, I'm serious, I think you got the gift man. I've only ever heard true feelings through guitar a few times (won't mention any names, dont want to swell yer head up).

"Publication Unknown"

Your ability to make the guitar sing as a voice and drive like a freight train and soar like a glider is awesome. You do not sound alike in any of the songs you do. It is like listening to a guitar with multiple personalities. I love it. - Samantha

"Unknown"

loved "Top Hat"!! I really enjoyed your skills. I think I've listened to that song about 3 times at this point...and what I like most, is that it makes me want to sing. There isn't alot of stuff out there right now that makes me want to sing! I don't know how to explain it...it's just so creative. Another thing I like about what it seems you can do is versatality. Versitality is so important. - TDC/Songwriter-Singer-Actor-New York, New York

"Guitar 9 Records"

Lonero favors a wah wah pedal to add to the expressiveness of his improvisational sections, which are heavy, uncompromising and full of fire, especially on the extended jams of "Top Hat". The slower number, "Half Moon Nights", displays the subtle side of Lonero's abilities and offers a strong melodic concept.Bill Lonero is well positioned to begin making a noise in the competitive music industry. - Not Known

Bio

"Music is about expression not competition. If you want gymnastics watch the olympics". This is a quote that is often said by guitarist and band leader Bill Lonero. When Bill recorded his debut cd "Slather" his intentions were to record an all instrumental cd with no boundaries, with no gimmicks and with no computers. That's right the entire cd from start to finish was recorded without the use of any computers whatsoever. All guitar parts were recorded in complete takes as much as possible. But Bill didn't only hold himself to these high standards, he also held monster musician and Mariah Carey drummer Gigi Gonaway and Joe Satriani bassist Stu Hamm to the same ideals. The result is an album that marries catchy melodies and rhythms of groove with superb musicianship, honesty and dedication.
Bill's band Lonero holds those same ideals. With an engaging live show, catchy hooks and an honest representation of "Slather", Lonero have proven that they have what it takes to make a change in this "cookie-cutter" music scene. With a growing fan base worldwide through live shows and massive internet promotions Lonero has taken an ever stagnant genre of music and breathed new life into what most have written off as mindless finger exercises.
"Slather" is not just a rock album but a music album. "Slather" is a slap in the face of all that is predictable in the music business.

"I couldn't take "Slather" out of my cd player. I do not like instrumentals, I need vocals but I love your cd".-Neil Zlozower/Famous Rock Photographer

"I just received "Slather" and it rocks! Very very cool!-Marty Friedman-Guitarist/Megadeth

"Great playing and great songwriting! I think I've listened to The Grinch 20 times in the last few hours. Adam-Centralia, Illinois

"Listened to the 2 instrumentals on the site. Guitar instrumentals often bore me...especially those in the Vai/Satriani mode. Luckily these 2 were a bit different than the zillion and one Satriani wannbes out there. I got the feeling they were constructed as 'complete songs (with lyrics in mind)? Especially Cyberotic with the lead substituting for a vocalist. Excellent chops. Nice rhythm work as well. Talent is definitely evident. These 2 songs DID keep my interest. Good stuff".-AudioStreet.net fan
