Bio
Bill Mozingo is an Old Dominion University graduate who began as a singer/songwriter "in the year 2000"(think Conan O'brien), and lives in Va Beach. He comes from a state that has produced many national recording artists such as Bruce Hornsby, the Dave Mathews Band, Carbon Leaf, Mae, Virginia Coalition, The Pat McGee Band, and many others. Influences such as Vertical Horizon, Edwin McCain, Train, and Sister Hazel can be heard in his sound, which can be described as "lyric driven rock with an acoustic foundation". Now, Bill plays with a full band and has opened for many artists including Dave Mathews/Tim Reynolds, Matchbox 20, Carbon Leaf, Lifehouse, and Will Hoge. He has performed at many regional colleges such as, Old Dominion University, Virginia Wesleyan College, and Methodist College, as well as numerous venues including The Norva (Norfolk,Va), The Rusty Nail (Philadelphia, PA), and CBGB's (NYC). In addition to many regional shows, he has also been heard on 93.7 BOB FM (live acoustic show/interview) and 89.5 (local NPR station) showcasing local musicians. Known for his convincing lyrics, solid sound, and great live performance, Bill Mozingo and his band is a great choice when you want to experience original music that you can't wait to tell your friends about (or your local major record label).
