Lyrics

Didn't mean to make you cry

Written By: Bill Nadeau

I didn't mean to make you cry
Oh no - not i
I didn't mean to say goodbye
I searched the heavens in the sky
god knows how I tried

I didn't mean to break your heart
I told you that from the start
I didn't mean to break your soul
circumstance beyond control
would never bring myself to fold

And so I ask myself
If I
could try
to do it all again
no matter how
Many times
It still turns out the same

I didn't mean to make you cry
I didn't mean to say goodbye
I didn't mean to break your heart
I didn't mean to break your soul
Circumstances that I find
That are all beyond control
So I said I'll never fold
Still I ask myself if I
Didn't mean to make you cry

It Aint Easy

Written By: Bill Nadeau

The old twisted tree narrow shore
steep walls of beauty and splendour
still holding onto wishes and dreams
with the same body language of that old tree

Sometimes I wonder why I'd forsaken so much
taken so little and longed for your touch

Am I Askin' so much
It aint Easy
Should have taken the time Baby
But it aint easy
Startin' all over
But it aint easy
Wiser and Older
But it aint easy

I Sat down and looked into the water below
I Shoulda taken the time so long ago
To wonder where it's going wonder where it's been
and wonder bout the wonders that I've never seen

Like the hustling waters runing out to the sea
and the timeless rattle of futility

Am I Askin' so much
It aint Easy
Should have taken the time Baby
But it aint easy
Startin' all over
But it aint easy
Wiser and Older
But it aint easy

The river of life It's like that river of dreams
Snakes through time past the old twisted tree
And just like the water running out to the sea
and I feel the river still carrying me

Am I Askin' so much
It aint Easy
Should have taken the time Baby
But it aint easy
Startin' all over
But it aint easy
Wiser and Older
But it aint easy

Who Owns Who

Written By: Bill Nadeau

I was Drivng along with the sweet smell of spring
At the alter of the 9 to 5 suburbanite thing
The Papers at the Door with nothig Askew
and I ask myself Who owns who

2 worlds collide, a common thread
and the needle lost at sea
the light, the heigtened sense
the question I ask is
Chorus
who owns who
Who owns you?

Ricky's got the statement for his credit card in
Interest rate's sky high - he thinks its a sin
Papers on the floor - at the help wanted section
now he's got nothing to lose and no sense of direction

He calls him self Richard Owens the Third
Sitting at his desk looking out a bird
Papers in his hand from the revenue Man
Has to hire 3 lawyers just to help understand

2 worlds collide, a common thread
and the needle In his sleeve
the light, the heigtened sense
the question I ask is who
owns who
Who owns you?

Amish's got a green card, he's podigal son
He's got a gig shooting mice with an elephant gun
Sam's got it bad and Sarah's got it too
but they haven't got it on since 2002

2 worlds collide, a common thread
and the needle In his sleeve
the light, the heigtened sense
the question I ask is who
owns who
Who owns you?
