Feeling a bit camera shy
Bio
I've played piano, guitar and trombone for more than forty-five years. Organ, harmonica, and percussion more than thirty-five years. I wrote my first song when I was 16. Since then I've written more than fifty songs.
I am currently a performing member of The Lu Mitchell and Catch-23 musical group, performing on piano, bass or harmonica depending on the requirements of a given song. Also, I sing backup for Lu, often performing duets with her such as "I remember it well," "Katia," and "You old fool." As a fellow singer/songwriter, Lu has been a major influence in my songwriting and public performing.
I first met Lu at the Dallas Spectacular Senior Follies Show in 2009 where we were both performing. I've appeared in the Follies show ever since then, and the last two years I performed twice as a soloist on stage with guitar.
Through the Follies show I also met Mark Carroll who was the producer of the show. Mark is a landmark musician/pianist in the Dallas area. Since that first show, Mark and I have established a wonderful relationship, and he has been reviewing and criticizing my work and providing me with lessons in phrasing and performance. I feel that between Lu and Mark my songwriting and music have been validated.
