From supporting national acts in major venues through the mid-atlantic to performing in the hit Broadway show Million Dollar Quartet, Southern Maryland’s Billy Woodward has always revered american roots music. Billy’s broad appreciation of early rock & roll and rhythm & blues has been instrumental in his songwriting and live performances.

Billy’s new concept EP, THE BEAST IN ME, is a labor of love that explores the feral side of the human condition. Pulling from the imagery of classic werewolf tales and late night horror movies, the EP touches on the individuals tendency for wild transgression and the consequences that follow.

Recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, TN, THE BEAST IN ME combines Woodward's gift for songwriting and storytelling with his life-long adoration of traditional country, blues, R&B, and rock and roll to create a brand new concept album that shines a light on the reality that no matter who you are, or which straight and narrow path one may choose, no man is immune to indiscretion.  The result is a brilliant, seamless collection of authentic americana that, at times, can be light-hearted, yet downright frightening.  And damn sure rocking.
