Biography

Based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the Billy Bauer Band has built their fan base the old fashioned way, through years of touring and great live performances.  With a sound reminiscent of Dave Mathews Band, Counting Crows, Death Cab for Cutie, and Jack Johnson, they have garnered acclaim throughout the Northeast as a consistently engaging act with a crisp, bright sound.

Founded by Billy Bauer (vocals, guitar) and Chris Lorenzetti (electric violin, piano) in 2006, the Billy Bauer Band began as an acoustic duo, and evolved to incorporate the solid rhythm section of Drew Somers (percussion) and Steve Zalalas (bass).

Within just a few months of their first show in 2006, the band landed a spot in one of the most prestigious independent music festivals in the world- the “CMJ Music Marathon” (New York, NY).  They have gone on to play some of the largest festivals and venues in the nation, including Musikfest (Bethlehem, PA), Arts Fest (State College, PA), Coca Cola Park (Allentown, PA), Bryce Jordan Center (State College, PA), Bitter End (New York, NY), Living Room (New York, NY), Listening Room (Nashville, TN), The Rave (Milwaukee, WI), Levitt Pavilion (Bethlehem, PA) and more.  As their reputation grew, they were booked as an opening act for top billboard artists: Third Eye Blind, Grammy winner: Blues Traveler, Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band), Pete Francis (of Dispatch), O.A.R (Of A Revolution),
Uncle Kracker, Grammy nominee Mary Lambert, and others.

Billy Bauer Band's last 2 studio releases together have sold thousands of units.  Their songs have been contracted with major media outlets such as ESPN/Disney, 19 Six Flags theme parks in North America, featured with "Rock the Cut" by Super Cuts, distributed throughout all Sam Ash music stores nation wide, and featured on Clear Channel Philadelphia Radio 104.5fm Live @ 5.

After a career threatening vocal surgery sidelined the band for all of 2015, the following year they were right back at it.  2016 was filled with new music and great shows capped with spots with Blues Traveler and Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band).  2017 is off to a great start.  The band is back in recording studio tracking their highly anticipated latest single "So I Love" which will release in spring 2017.

Lyrics

You Never Know

Written By: Billy Bauer

Good memories of time gone by
Sweet friendships that never die
Will always be there when you grow tired
Don't swim against the currect
Because your arms will grow tired
Just float there and let the water pass the time

Cus' you never know what life throws at you
So don't tell me that you know the secret
Cus' you don't know me and I don't know you
Yeah, I'll tell you when I get there
And if I knew, I'd be lying too

Well preachers preach and liars lie
Burglars steal and smokers get high
They're not better or worse than you or I
Ya don't swim against the current
Because your arms will grow tired
Just float there and let the water pass the time

Cus' you never know what life throws at you
So don't tell me that you know the secret
Cus' you don't know me and I don't know you
Yeah, I'll tell you when I get there
And if I knew, well I'd be lying too

And don't give up on anything
Cus' I need you around here for a while
And don't give in to anything
Just forget about it out and smile

It's been two years since he's gone
I write these words
I sing this song
Some preacher says he knows what's going on

Cus' you never know what life throws at you
Yea don't tell me that you know some secret
Cus' you don't know me and I don't know you
Yeah, I'll tell you when I get there
Well if I knew, I'd be lying too
I'd be lying too
I'd be lying too
I'd be lying

Without You Here

Written By: Billy Bauer

Counting clocks in my head and time slips bye
No words left to be said and wonder why
You're not here with me now, so I wonder when
Our eyes meet again would it need to be said
I need you

Nothing seems the same without you here
And the little things in life don't seem as clear
The smell of your sweet perfume still jumps in my room
So easy on me write these words for you

I wonder if this could be something you and me
Could work out and make it last a while
I want to be something you and me
Could always look back on and smile

As I lay alone I think of times
Like when you laugh with me and it gets me by
Well you're not here with me now, so I wonder when
Our eyes meet again would it need to be said

I wonder if this could be something you and me
Could work out and make it last a while
I want to be something you and me
Could always look back on and smile
Yeah and smile

I want you here
These words so clear
This world don't care
Another day is coming

I want you here
These words so clear
This world don't care
Another day is coming

I want you here
These words so clear
This world don't care
Another day is coming

I want you here
These words so clear
This world don't care
Another day is coming

55

Written By: Billy Bauer

55 (3:34)
Late June afternoon with the sun outside
Got the windows down and I'm cruising at 55
Then I look out the window and what do I see
There's a crazy man and he's looking at me
But he says not a word as I drive by
And he fades away into the June sky

Remembering times when it was a simple life
When the biggest question was should I pack or should I buy
But those days have passed us by my friends
But these memories still jump around in my head
If I had a dime for all the times
That these silly dreams made me drive 55

Stupid dreams of time that's gone by
Why can't I kick them out of my life
They cry for ten cents even a penny a soul
But paying for sins will leave a poor man cold

Strange it seems how fast the time slips by
If you owned that special clock would it make you change your life
Or would you let the dreams still steal me away
Make you drive at night just to get away
Then that crazy man who looked me right on by
Would make me realize that was my old life

Late June afternoon with the stars outside

Not Just Friends

Written By: Billy Bauer

It’s six am it’s time again
The morning fog makes breakfast in my bed
Sweet memories of this drifters dream
Creep up inside and say hi to me
Well you’re not here, I’ll see you soon
And until then time will stand still
And in your arms I’ll fall asleep
Until this drifters dream’s complete

Stay with me
And please don’t leave
Yeah, I feel like I could scream

Remembering times when we were just friends
All the dinner dates and nights real late
Would add up to one big headache
Yeah in the end we’re not just friends
And hope to stay together til’ the end

Stay with me
And please don’t leave
Yeah, I feel like I could scream

Remembering times I would walk on by
You would sit and barely notice me
Well consider this song
My way of helping us move along
I cannot speak
I cannot speak
I cannot move my feet
