Billy No Fear (originally called Coat & Curtains) formed in late 2009, when the band were forced to change their name, after a haberdashery in Norwich threatened them with legal action. The trio consists of Phil Leap Elbourne, Jo Marsh and Emily-Ruth Warren, who studied French together at the University of Chester, and since graduating have moved in together and adopted a pet goat (Billy).

After a narcissistic photo shoot and an off-hand comment that they looked like a “real band”, the three friends decided to give the music thing a try. The moment they started playing together they discovered a magical chemistry, and haven’t looked back since.

They’ve come a long way since their first gig, during which the trio wore fake beards to hide their sheer terror. Adding more and more eclectic instruments, rhythms and stylings, their sound has developed into the full bodied folk - soulful yet upbeat - that they play today.

Playing gigs across Chester and North Wales, up mountains, down subways and many in between, Billy No Fear will continue to spread their infectious melodies and sweet harmonies until your joy is overflowing.
