With Austin serving up alternating rounds of scorching heat, bitter wind, torrential rain, and the possibility of hail, comfort was our number one priority. It takes a special eye to be able to parlay the practical and utilitarian into the sartorial, but that's what "Billyracxx" at The FADER FORT Presented by Converse managed to do. It doesn't look like unpredictable weather patterns will be chilling out anytime soon, so scroll through and take notes. - FADER

This is Texas folks… home of everything large and the epicenter of rebellion. Yea, that’s right! On the days where we aren’t threatening to leave the union we are probably getting “lit” at one of the many music festivals in Austin, or we have taken the day off to go play with our guns. What? No chill? OK. Anyway I guess ill get down to business, I’ve set up shop here in Austin, TX and I have seen a lot of talent come and go. The capitol of Texas gives you the hottest live music in the world right now. Thousands of new people join us here every year to get a piece of the pie, and it is my personal pleasure to introduce you to the liveliest band in Austin right now, Anahata X Milytia.

AXM is a rookie collective of artists coming from various backgrounds and utilizing a plethora of crafts to get their message across. Now what is that message? Only the most easy-going, profound, and ancient message of all, to live free and live true. The group consists of several photographers, musicians, fashion designers, producers, creative directors, and maybe even an author or two. It’s absolutely something else to see so many people cooperate and incorporate their creative energies.

When talent is in the same location creative juices start to flow, that is exactly what happened when Billyracxx & Steelo Foreign spent a week in the lab while in Houston. They both did not hold anything back while creating the “A Week In Houston” EP, they also got great footage of the time spent piecing this project together. With Billyracxx unorthodox delivery style and Steelo Foreign’s production skill and hooks they created an original sound. Billyracxx has his finger on the pulse of the new wave in Hip Hop. Hailing from the heat of Orlando, now residing in Austin, Tx - the young talented creative is stirring things up a bit. What distinguishes Billyracxx is his ability to adapt in vocal performance. This ultimately gives the listener an "audible journey" in their listening experience. HipHopDX Premiere: To coincide with his forthcoming album, Flamingos and Finches, Houston, Texas transplant Billyracxx has shared a 20-minute immersive experience that brilliantly showcases the Florida native’s undying work ethic and what personally drives him. The artistically shot visual follows the young artist’s last release, Billy Ocean Two, and comes with a seriously disturbing twist at the end, making it well worth the time invested to watch it. Directed by Billy and Dak.TA, the video is dark and twisted at times, but inspiring and uplifting as well.

Flamingos and Finches is expected to arrive sometime after the Super Bowl (February 5). The 14-track effort features OG Maco and Greg Money, and introduces the world to an undeniably talented artist. Trae Tha Truth, for one, is anticipating what Billy will do this year.

“Billy is definitely a unique addition to the Houston music scene,” Trae tells HipHopDX. “I think it’s a good look for the younger side of Houston. This movie shows creativeness without limits. As a big homie to tha city, I salute him. Congrats and keep pushing.”

Billyracxx is an exciting up and coming artist out of Houston, Texas. He’s already been featured in Fader, Source and Papermag. His short movie for his latest mixtape, Flamingos and Finches, is a must see. Billyracxx keeps the listener entertained throughout the 20-minute film. The visuals are just as wavy as the music in the video. Billyracxx is able to link up with Trae the Truth, OG Maco and Greg Money on the project. The range of music on the mixtape paired with footage from concerts and behind the scenes truly adds up to be a one-of-a-kind experience. Very few artists are able to showcase their talents like Billyracxx does at such an early stage in his career. Don’t trip, watch the movie below. Billyracxx drops a video for his hit single, Wonderland, after debuting his latest project, Flamingos & Finches, on Lyrical Lemonade a week ago. Billyracxx continues to prove himself as one of Houston’s most promising up-and-coming artists. This past week the young taste maker released the official video for his single “Temporary“. The track was produced by fellow Houston native AGkeyz.

The new visual contains a hypnotic combination of trippy visual effects and mesmerizing auto-tuned vocals. This blend of creativeness is one of the many aspects of Billyracxx that sets him apart from other MC’s in the game. As a result the young artist continues to be blessed with new opportunities; getting a chance to display his work at events such as SXSW and Foam Wonderland.

His last two projects “Billy Ocean Two” and “A Week In Houston” have given him some serious buzz as they’ve been streamed on SoundCloud over 80,000 times. Curious as to what the hype is all about? Take a look for yourself and check out his newest video for “Temporary” here - The Source

There’s a pretty good chance that you don’t know Orlando native turned Houstonian BILLYRACXX. However, if you took the time to check out last year’s Billy Ocean Two, you might wonder why you missed such a prolific performer. Known for an intense live show, the rapper is on the cusp of the new Houston rap world, where fans mosh at shows and get crazy like they’re at a hardcore show. Keeping things on the next level, today BILLYRACXX released a 20 minute film entitled Flamingos and Finches, and it’s pretty epic.


The film, featuring new tracks, concert footage, and intimate behind the scenes footage showcases how intense the rapper’s shows are and how next level he’s doing things. The Houston rapper plans on releasing the soundtrack to the film immediately following this weekend’s Super Bowl LI. The album will feature guest spots from OG Maco and Greg Money, and if it’s as insane as the film, it should be a welcome follow up to his album last year.



While there are no shows planned around the soundtrack release, you’d be doing yourself not to keep an eye out for BILLYRACXX, as he’s definitely at the forefront of the next wave in Houston hip hop. - Free Press Houston

Another one of those is Billyracxx — who, like Soho, hails from Missouri City, something of a hotbed for Houston rap talent in recent years. Billyracxx, a rapper who likes to tweak and Autotune his voice, has done a slew of shows recently and is making his name as a purveyor of fashion and music videos. His eclecticism comes from time spent working on his rapper brand in Austin and New York. But the Orlando, Florida transplant says a lot of who he is comes from his upbringing in Mo City. "I don't know what it is, but there's a lot of young people getting money off of art," Billyracxx says. "Mo City is really unique."

In addition to rapping and releasing a short film and its accompanying soundtrack, both called Flamingos and Finches, he's becoming more visible on the Houston underground.
However, it's the film, which plays like an extended music video influenced by a Harmony Korine film, that has become Billyracxx's calling card and entry into his world.

"I'm fishing on the beach and then it shows me getting dragged in a net, but you don't see who's dragging me," he explains about the opening of the film. "The next thing you know I'm in a net, I'm struggling the whole time."

The visual is a sort of metaphor for how he's trying to break out of the trappings of contemporary hip-hop. "I usually don't explain this a lot. If you're really doing art you should leave that stuff up to interpretation," he says. - Houston Press
