Billy Simons is not a musician, but rather a lyricist and a poet. In fact, he considers himself to be a narrative songwriter, who derives much of his inspiration from his own personal experiences and other real life accounts. 2009-Honorable Mention in The Billboard Songwriting Contest for song entitled "Two Dudes Dressed In Drag"

2009-#1 spot on Neil Young's Living With War Site during the 4th week of December for song entitled "Living In A Postwar Dream". Additionally, this song was in the top 10 for 4 straight weeks.
