Bio
Billy was born on Oct,3,1992,in Lansing Mi.
His musical interests were portrayed at a very young age, at 3 years old, little Billy would sit in his high chair and strum along with his Father (Terry Barber) on a little plastic toy guitar. Terry said to his mother Debra.."he's got rhythm". A year later while walking through an antique store, Billy got his first guitar.. "which he threw himself on the floor throwing a fit for". For the next few years he sat with his dad and learned chords, picking techniques and how to back up his dad playing songs like "beaumont rag" and "salt creek". From that point on..he studied his fathers Flatpicking.. and the songs of Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs and especially Doc Watson, were forever in a young Billy String's heart and soul.
