"Binko Swink - Patient"

Binko Swink are a three piece London band who formed at the start of the year. The band have been influenced by The Velvet Underground, Pavement, Mazzy Star, Broadcast, The National and St Vincent.

Debut single ‘Patient’ is an infectious beautiful melodic song with soft vocals that will melt even the toughest of hearts. With Lyla and Dan sharing vocals and singing in harmony, combined with Andy keeping the pace of the song with the soft drum beat. This really is a fantastic debut single that quickly becomes stuck in your head.

At present the band are busy recording their debut album which will be due for release in Spring 2012. In the meantime they have very kindly made four songs available for free download from their Bandcamp page.

If these tracks are a taster of what this band have to offer then their debut album is going to be something we will be counting down the days until it’s released. Binko Swink are sure to be a band to watch out for in 2012. - A Musical Priority

"Binko Swink - Patient"

"Patient" is the forthcoming debut single from emerging London Pop band Binko Swink and it is a GORGEOUS record, I reiterate - it is a GORGEOUS record! From the lush tones to the vocal harmonies to the acoustic instrumentation, everything works on "Patient"! It will be released on September 12 via Adventure Club Records along with the equally sublime B-side "Youngest". Check out the record's accompanying visuals up top! - Conversations About Her

"Binko Swink - Patient"

Binko Swink are a group that’s new to me, but their pop music is really doing it for me this morning. They’re based in London and just started making music together in January of this year. Seems they were very quick to find a recipe for success. I wouldn’t be surprised if Binko Swink soon became a well-known name. Below, check out “Take The Pop,” a cheery pop tune, and “Patient,” a slower track with beautiful harmonizing male and female vocals. - Sunset In The Rearview

Patient - Single
Released September 2011 through Adventure Club Records.
Received multiple plays on Tom Robinson BBC 6Music Introducing show and on The Frank Skinner Show on Absolute Radio.

Binko Swink formed in 2011, after Dan and Andy (former college friends) met again at The Windmill in Brixton. They formed a plan, and in the next few days Lyla was recruited to sing and play bass and the band was born.

Bonding over a love of bands like The Undertones, Elliott Smith, Mazzy Star and Patti Smith, Binko Swink began to demo their sometimes dreamy, sometimes defiant songs. Hypnotic drums and a bitter sweet vocal set the tone for their unique brand of pop-noir. You can tell that Binko Swink grew up in the ‘90s with Hole in the bedroom and The Beach Boys in the kitchen.

In March 2012 Binko Swink release ‘Play’, the first single from their forthcoming debut album, accompanied by B-side ‘Body Naked’ (which one fan said sounded like Marc Bolan on a bad trip).

‘Play’ follows their striking first single ‘Patient’, which won the approval of BBC 6Music presenters and the blog world. This led to shows with Goldheart Assembly, Tom Williams and The Boat, Bear Driver, Chris Pureka and Lia Ices.

The band are currently finishing mixing their debut album which they recorded in a tumble-down cottage near Glastonbury. Playing live over three days, the recordings captured the spirit of their shows; three friends making a bigger sound than seems possible with nifty arrangements, guitar trickery and some power-house drumming. Self produced by the band, the record dredges up all the emotions of the previous year, its loves, anguish and relationships.
