"shouty, shimmery"

"kinda shouty, kinda shimmery, pretty darn good for driving long distances, alone." - PUNK PLANET

"Exceptional EP"

"With guidance from renowned production vet Jack Endino, the local trio skillfully alternates between upbeat, clangy, indie-pop staple food (“The Charmer”) and just as accessible psychedelic meanderings (“Accidental Town”) on exceptional EP, Memory’s Servant (Tellous). Hints of Southern
Culture on the Skids in the guitars, but only hints." - Seattle Weekly

"Epic and a pleasure, reminiscent of Television Personalities." - ALL Music Guide

"Better than Belle and Sebastian"

"What Belle and Sebastian would sound like if they got better." - PUNKNEWS.Org

"the songs ended up sticking in my head for a long time.....excellent album"

"these guys could be bigger than modest mouse, given some support and a little time"

We are three friends from Seattle, all equally moved by a love of late 70's British punk/art rock and wave. Perhaps we are naive but we believe that music is a form of communication that can transcend political/social boundaries. The all ages music community is something we are very supportive of, trying to help young people have a sense of belonging and a worthwhile place to hang out, which we feel contemporary mainstream society severely lacks.

We are political, and play shows which support Arts Orgs, Women's Issues and Literacy as often as possible. We strive not to be typical 'rock and roll' egomaniacs and instead see community activity and integration, volunteering and DIY education events as being a core for a healthy society. Being a punk is not about how many nihilistic tattoos you can cram onto your arm or money you can waste on drugs, but speaking up when you see an injustice and sticking up for the underdogs. In our view anyhow. Get out into the streets. Speak your mind.

We have received a few cool awards/nominations in the past 2 years which are worthy of note considering the highly competitive Seattle music scene:

* 2007 CMJ/Sonicbids spot on the CMJ New Music Monthly #151 'Music Marathon' Issue! This means our song John the Barber was chosen to be featured on the CMJ sampler that comes with the magazine. This is really cool because it is the same month, October, as the Music Marathon in NYC and we will likely get a lot of free publicity for that. whoo!

*2007 CMJ/Sonicbids Artist Spotlight: Chosen to be the featured artist on main page for week of June 4.

*2007 107.7fm The End: A finalist in the contest to play EndFest on

*2005 Seattle Weekly Music Awards nomination as best Indie band (this is the largest free paper in Seattle with a circulation of around 120,000). Death Cab for Cutie went on to defeat us. Go figure....

*2004 Winner of Redhook Brewery Emerging Music Awards. Yeah!

*2004 The Vera Project: Best Demo Packaging

*2003 John Richards KEXP 'Top 5 up and coming local bands'

Deerhoof, Melt Banana, Decemberists, Xiu Xiu, Calvin Johnson, Gossip, Shoplifting, Fruit Bats, Okkervil River, C Average, The Bangs, Hot Hot Heat, The Old Haunts, Yacht, The Blow, Degenerate Art Ensemble, Dead Science, Anna Oxygen, Deerhoof.... and many more......

The Slits, Television Personalities, Family Fodder, The Wipers, The Clash, Wire, Kinks, Television, Essential Logic, Sonic Youth, Gray Matter, Neil Young, Joy Division, New Order, Versus, Ride, Buzzcocks, The Who....on and on

We make sculpture and do industrial and graphic design. Play piano, screw around with laptops and keyboards. Play chess, read French surrealist writers from the early 20th century and post apocalyptic/fantasy novels as well as books on Psi. Listen to Art Bell. Basically, read, write and draw, lots.

Justin Hamacher - Guitar, Voice
Raised by hermaphrodite wolves on a small coastal peninsula of Chile in the latter part of the 23rd century, Justin enjoys croche and kick boxing random elderly bus riders. He has undertaken many succesful business endeavors, noteably the Nietzsche coloring book, which resulted in the suicides of 11 three year olds and his subsequent imprisonment of 5 years. He dislikes yams and republicans immensley.

Larry Brady- Bass
Larry's background is unknown, but once when he left his wallet on the coffee table while using the rest room at a diner, the other band members greedily probed it hoping to illuminate the background of this mystery beast. To their surprise, inside they found absolutely nothing save an i.o.u. from Justin and a faded, green tinted photo. In the photo was what appeared to be a young, juvenile Larry and a woodland elf!! This leads the band members to believe Larry is from another more magical realm.

Stromi King - Drums, backing vocals
Chris eats raw meat every morning. She bathes (once a year) in the piranha infested waters of Greenlake. She sleeps on a bed of glass while listening to looped remixes of "Electric Avenue" by Eddie Grant. She carries a shillelagh passed down from her ancestral clan and will promptly bonk you on the head if you cut her off in traffic, or "look at her funny" while she is ordering a vegan scone.

Morgock the gnome
Morgock is an invisible gnome level 12, chaotic good, 99 hit points....only Justins can see him and he plays a magic whistle in Justins' dreams that gives them the melodies for all the b.o.f. songs....Morgock does not eat fastfood, does drink too much and is armed with a crossbow that shoots ice bolts + 3 at unsu
