Bio
Born in a land drenched by the Mediterranean sun and living for a long time in rainy Britain, Bird comes from the thoughts and hopes of Ilaria Capalbo. She first entered the underground jazz scene of Napoli, her home town, as a bass player. After years of collaborations, she felt the need to get back in touch with her inner sound and her roots. Together with sax player Marcello Della Giovanna, she put together a set of intimate songs, going back to jazz sounds, blues tunes and traditional melodies from the Mediterranean.
Bird is back in Naples at the moment, playing around the most popular venues as well as busking..come and hear for yourself!
