LP - Peace To The Wanderer (2012)

Feeling a bit camera shy

Whilst one may immediately notice the rich vocal harmonies and warm melodic guitar parts of acoustic duo Birdbrother, it is the depth and originality of their songwriting that will see the listener return time and time again.

Sussex based musicians Philip Stapley and Kris Lamba share both a love of the natural environment, and it's ability to inspire and sculpt the channels of the creative process. This has spawned an intimate debut album, full of vibrant woven melodies, layered textures and diverse instrumentation. Recorded over an intense four month period, 'Peace To The Wanderer' has echoes of the late sixties folk movement, traditional in essence yet modern in approach. It is the expert blend of styles; traditional British folk, Americana, country, blues and rock, that bring the album's poetic lyrics to life. Colourful tales of love, life and spirituality paint a romantic yet melancholy picture and show these two musicians to be artful storytellers.

Formed in early 2011 Birdbrother has had little time for rest. With their debut album now completed they are setting their sights on both national and international tours. Rehearsing in the heart of the picturesque Ashdown Forest, the world outside seems to have little impact on the duo's focus and determination that their music be heard the world over.
