Nick can play! And then he has his OWN style. It's just happenin! ---------------------------- Ramsey Lewis - WNUA radio personality and Jazz Legend

A great fit for a music festival or street fair, the Nick Bisesi Groove Project features covers and original high-energy instrumental (saxophone) music in the pop-rock/singer-songwriter genre. Imagine a cross between John Mayer and a Late-Nite TV band.

The group has a jam-band vibe and can take the audience on an incredible journey. An optional vocalist can be added if desired.

Nick is equally at home in both modern jazz and contemporary settings. In addition to his work with his high-energy modern jazz group "Bisesi" (, Nick has been active on the Adult Contemporary circuit, most notably performing with piano legend Ramsey Lewis' Urban Knights. Out of this experience has grown the "Nick Bisesi Groove Project" featuring original contemporary jazz with a pop sensibility.

In addition to being a member of RAMSEY LEWIS' URBAN KNIGHTS, Nick has shared the stage with such notables as RAY CHARLES, THE TEMPTATIONS, Brian Culbertson, Richard Elliot, and Peter White, among others; as well as having a GRAMMY NOMINATION as featured soloist on Angel Melendez 911 Mambo Orchestra's recording.

Liner Notes from Goin' Home EP

Written By: Nick Bisesi

As a saxophone player, I've had the opportunity to perform in a wide variety of situations with some of the greatest musicians in the world. I've played in arenas with Ray Charles, recorded with Ramsey Lewis, shared the stage with Lou Rawls, Dave Mason, and even acts as varied as The Temptations and Johnny Mathis.

All of these artists share a common trait. They wrote great songs that resonated deeply with many people.

I've always had an affinity for popular music. I grew up listening to rock and singer-songwriters, then I picked up the saxophone and was introduced to jazz. Jazz was the primary vehicle through which I learned (and continue learning) how to play the saxophone.

Fast-forward 20 years, and I'm again embracing my love for a great melody. The Groove Project represents another side of my musical personality. I feel a strong, almost instinctual connection with these songs. Playing them allows a unique part of my soul to shine through in a raw and powerful way. I hope you enjoy listening to this music as much as I did making it!
