There is no band quite like Bitter Candi. Their "something for everyone" approach has gained the band much fanfare since the band came together in 2004. "We've got it all" says front man Jay Phillips. "If you want guitar solos, we've got 'em. If you want groove, we've got some groove for ya, and if you just want to rock out to good songs... well, we're the band for you." Bitter Candi's songs range from hard hitting in your face rockers, to Bon-Joviesque ballads. Every song is crafted to hook the listener, and everyone has a different favorite song, attesting to the versatility of the band.
The band has just released their first EP "Suckerpunch" featuring fan favorite songs "Kick Back" and "Crashing Down" and are now playing shows in support of it.
Bitter Candi has also enjoyed mild success on the online social network Myspace. With nearly 12,000 friends and nearly 200,000 plays, the band continues to lead the indie scene of Mississauga, and is one of the top indie bands in the GTA.
On April 20th, 2009 Bitter Candi was the feature on Hamilton radio station Y108's "Get Hammered" indie music show. The song Kick Back was chosen for airplay!
In fall 2009, Bitter Candi's music will be a regular feature on Canada's first tattoo TV show, being filmed at Alleytatz Studio in Stratford, Ontario.
