"The Valley of Peace, by Portland band, Bitterroot drops at The Wonder Ballroom"

"Anyone could get into Bitterroot’s music, even if folk isn’t a preference. At first, you’ll think that this is just another folk band, but then you hear the electric guitar and you’re suddenly listening to a blues rock band. Lauren Bihr’s voice is an incredible addition to the cousins’ vocals. The entire band has an impactful stage presence that adds to the musical energy." - Portland Pick

"Great Circle 2013 -The perspective of a volunteer and a fan girl."

"To be able to lose yourself in song, in someone’s voice, in the way someone plays the guitar – it’s one of the most wonderful feelings in the world. Bitterroot offers that with every show." - Mirranda Warren/ Lagrandelife.com

Bio

Since 2009, cousins Colt and Foster Haney have shared a vision; to bring people together as a family to share an unforgettable music experience and to inspire social change through that connection, and it is still what Bitterroot stands for today.  Together, with Lauren Bihr, Jay Colton Hughes, and Talen Couey, their eclectic style sends you soaring.   Their blend of folk, rock, blues, soul, bluegrass, and roots will take you from high mountain peaks to lonely desert plains, and back to the city streets.  Their powerful harmonies will lift your spirit, the guitars will move your body, and the cajones drum vibrates your very soul.   The message and the music are clear in every original song.  Cover tunes gain new light through this bands energy.   You cant help but dance!

With Bitterroots EP, their first full-length album The Valley of Peace, and many Pacific Northwest tours behind them, their family (not fans) is growing and gaining momentum.  Bitterroot is responsible for the weekend-long music festival, now in its third year, The Great Circle in La Grande, Oregon, as a fundraising event for the Blue Mountains Conservancy, a non-profit land trust dedicated to the preservation of open space and permanent protection of open lands from development.  They have also supported the Portland, Oregon area festival called Rain Dance which donates all proceeds to various non-profits.   Bitterroot has had the honor of sharing the stage with such bands as: Nahko & Medicine for the People, Fruition, Worth, Cody Bebee & the Crooks, Kory Quinn & the Comrades, and many, many more.  With their sophomore album soon to be released, it seems the sky is the limit for Bitterroot.
