BLACK AFRICAN POSITIVE is a reggae band that plays a specific kind of ragga, dance hall, acoustics and Afro music.

It is no hazard at all if the setting up of the band dated back from one 11th May 1991. A mythic and symbolic day when, in all the world over, Bob Marley’s death is celebrated.

Ever since its birth, the band has shown an unswerving commitment to noble causes as illustrated by its remarkable performances in sub regional sensitizing campaigns for issues such as Malaria, drug AIDS, etc…. Not to mention concerts in favor of Peace restoration or in support for Ziguinchor’s prisoners.

But at the beginning of year 2008, the band made a step ahead, producing its own album « IT’S MY NATION ».

In the same time, they decided to work with the movie-maker Moussa GELONGAL, already well-known for his video clips for the great Senegalese singer Youssou NDOUR. In March 2008, the whole team went to Oriental Senegal. There, in the wonderful landscape around Tambacounda and among the Bassari people at the Guinean border, two clips were shot.
These videos continually run on TV channels in West African countries such as Senegal, The Gambia, Mali, Cameroun, and on TV5 MONDE and AFRICABLE. They revealed the artist to the West African musical world. A local tour is set, opening the possibilities to reach the international stage.

With the strength of his lyrics and the virtuosity of his melodies, “LUNE” gives us in this album a wide range of his skills. The maturity of his music and the diversity of his creative world surprise us.
