BlackAngel's debut album is entitled THE ARRIVAL. The pre-release is available for dj's and promotion and the album is expected to be in stores by mid-Dec. 08'. THE ARRIVAl has 12 songs of which at least half could be considered singles. As of now, the two premiere singles will be "Blessed Be" and "Your Man". BlackAngel aka Y. Goodwin has been writing and recording songs for more than a decade, mostly out of love for the artform and for his own personal listening pleasure. In 2003 he teamed up with producer/songwriter Levi Williams aka Y. Williams, known for his work with Rising Son and grammy nominated artist Pato Baton. In 2006 BlackAngel & Levi created a home studio and began recording a series of songs. The goal was to create rap music that could touch the soul and show reverence to the Most High without crossing into the Christian/Gospel genre. Much the same way that reggae artists can give praise and maintain a spiritual element without being pigeonholed into any specific category. BlackAngel's music is still very raw and explosive but yet maintains an aura of divinity. "The objective was to take the talents and expertise that Levi and I brought to the table, combine it with a limited budget and still make an album worthy of Grammy standards....and I think we have done that". The new album entitled The Arrival brings an element to hip-hop that has been missing since Lauryn Hill stepped away from the game. BlackAngel has a variety of lyrical styles and a very unique voice...the music is hard yet beautiful.
