Mali Vincent Williams - Bassist, Composer, Fine Graphic Artist
Mentored by Malachai Favors - a founder of the renowned Art Ensemble of Chicago, performed with other Chicago artists such as Steve Mc Calll, Light Henry Huff, Ed Wilkerson, Khalil El Zabar, Charles Morgan and various other artists at multiple venues.
Returning to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1989, Mali performed wth established local musicians such as Faye Carol, Jules Broussard, Robert Porter, Robert Stewart, Smiley Winters, Kamau Setu, Calvin Keys, Carl Lockett, James Levi, Charlie Hunter, Duhwann Muhammad, Spencer Allen, John Turk, Benny Green, Cecil Wells, Leon Williams, Mark Wright, Mark Little, Mark Lignell, Boni Boyer (formerly of Prince), Digital Underground and the African Roots of Jazz.
Venues include: 1300 Club, Eli's Mile High Club, Rasselas, Les Joulins, John's Grill, The Boom Boom Room, The Alice Arts Center The Western Addition Cultural Center, The Berkeley Jazz Festival, Yoshi's and select private parties
Available for duo, tio and quartet.
