Bio
Raw, edgy, rock-&-roll. This is Black Badge. The band draws their name from Shakespeare’s Love’s Labors Lost. Specifically, the line in which character King Navarre, utters, “Black is the badge of hell, the hue of dungeons and the school of night,” the band Black Badge is a collection of like-minded musicians aspiring to restore a sense of refined chaos and tangible uncertainty on stage with songs that contain purposeful writing, deep lyrical meaning, and dynamic, tension-building rock lines.
Black Badge’s sound pays homage to rock legends past but also incorporates many modern elements to deliver a brand new, yet strangely nostalgic experience. With songs running the gambit of slow and melodic to vibrant and volatile, Black Badge’s overall sound is heavy and raw with an emphasis on lyrical content. One sound engineer may have said it best when he stated, “You guys sound like you’ve listened to your dad’s old records and said, ‘We like what we hear, but this is how we’re going to do it'.”
Black Badge has played throughout Statesboro and currently has a recurring gig at Dos Primos, one of the more popular local establishments. The band recently finished its first studio session, recording its first, self-titled demo. While Statesboro is currently the band’s home, Black Badge is now seeking to branch out and play venues in other cities in hopes of expanding their growing following.
