"Q103.1 on the BBC"

They've got the look - but they also have the sound. Black Bird County smashes the sensibilities of modern country against the southern rock swagger of the Black Crowes. With their chops being honed on church stages, they bring a certain ease to anthemic hooks and southern charm. - Brian Eichenberger, New Country Q 103.1

"It’s A Poor Boy’s Revival in Black Bird County"

About Poor Boys Revival: "It sounds like they took Keith Urban and Darius Rucker in with them (or at least the influence). They might have called up Kings of Leon to add a little spice and then decided it just wouldn’t be right until they jammed out with The Black Crowes." - Middle Tennessee Music

Bio

In the early springtime of 2012 four young men from Louisville, Kentucky heard of a contest a local country radio station was promoting for an upcoming event that would slate the winner to perform in front of 15,000 people and open for country music legend Charlie Daniels. Never playing together as a collective, these southern boys threw their hat into the ring and became one of four finalists out of 28 bands. Finishing second overall and beating out much more seasoned and established acts, these upstarts created a buzz in their town, the end result became what is now Black Bird County.

Writing their original songs on life experiences of love found and lost, the desire for redemption and a pension to party, the songs were drenched in southern soul. Melodies were anathematic, guitar hooks instantly recognizable and the rhythm tight and as locked in as any boom chicka boom band from the old class. Borrowing from their heroes old and new it was a fresh sound but retained the integrity and realistic approach to being raised in the blue collar south.
Poor boys Revival, the bands first and current EP was received with great critical acclaim. Showcasing the multi faceted modern vision to country music this band brings. The missing piece came some months later with the addition of a veteran fiddle player that added the newest dimension to their sound.

Quickly gaining a reputation in Louisville, KY and surrounding cities as a moving and energetic live act the bookings started to flow in and this little group that started as a fluke has picked up steam. Opening for nation acts such and Randy Houser, playing countless festivals, bar rooms and performing often for the country radio stations in town, demand has grown for Black Bird County.

The train has left the station and is picking up speed, the ride is bound to be wild and tumultuous, but there’s definite fun to be had. Black Bird County, we’ll blaze a trail in the new era of modern country music. This is your chance to get on board.
