Blackcast

Blackcast

BandAlternativeRock

"The latest offering from Spacebar Recordings (produced by STEVE DEUTSCH, whose impressive resume includes early works with rock greats like Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Alice Cooper etc) looks set to pick up where unforgettable 90's grunge outfits like The Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana left off."

Biography

BLACKCAST is the new brainchild of KRIS JUNG, founding member of the Alternative / Hard Rock bands the SHORCRACKERS OF BETHLEHEM and RADIO FREE AMERICA.

KRIS wrote, sang and played all of the instruments, with the exception of KEVIN J. DRAKE (30 Seconds to Mars, The Hopps) who added some lead guitar and STEVE DEUTSCH (Spacebar Recordings, founder of the Micro Plant, LA) who played bass on “LOVELY”.

“ANYWHERE was produced by STEVE DEUTSCH (Graham Lindsey, Mountain Con) and mixed by BJORN THORSRUD (Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan).

When the Shoecrackers of Bethlehem played LA’s Troubadour they set the attendance record for an unsigned band where they went on to open for Incubus. In 2001 they metamorphosized into RADIO FREE AMERICA and released an early song “Train” to a compilation for Kid Antrem Music.

MUSIC CONNECTION honored RFA with a slot in their TOP 25 DEMOS of 2002. They were speaking of their 10 song CD “THE SONG THAT SAVED MY LIFE” when M.C. magazine said they “..manage to combine muscular hard rock with punky-pop rock..impressive guitar attack and whiplash vocals”.

KRIS is one hell of a beatboxer as well. He is featured in the definitive beatbox documentary “BREATH CONTROL”. His performance “LIQUID BUTTERFLY” is included in the beatbox compilation album “The HUMAN ELEMENT” (High Times/108 Records) where Tom Doggett of Rap Reviews.com hailed it as “the best song on the album because of its musical depth.” Kris has been seen opening up for BIG DADDY KANE, KOOL MOE DEE and STYLES of BEYOND.

BLACKCAST is painting the roots of alternative rock with modern colors and is currently locked in the studio working on his next release due to be out in the summer of ’07.

Lyrics

Anywhere

Written By: Kris Jung

I cannot eat I cannot wake I cannot ask for something more
I cannot sleep I cannot wait I can't think of you anymore
Hurry let's go, we're on the road to nowhere fast, anywhere's better than here dead inside the comfort of your love.

Your love

Yeah! I'll take you anywhere...

For those who can't stand still, there's a place for you around the world
For those who can't let go, there's a place for you right where you are.
The only consequence, I should've known best
Anywhere is better than here dead inside the comfort of your love.

Your love

Yeah! I'll take you anywhere! Yeah! I'll take you anywhere!

Bleeding you away I lye inpools of memories we've made
Now is the past and I can laugh that I know we're all alone....

It's better alone....

Anywhere is better than here...Anywhere is better than here...
Anywhere is better than here...Anywhere is better than here...
Yeah..I'll take you anywhere

Lovely

Written By: Kris Jung

Born and living in a rythm, Tracing the stars across my linens.
I find the time to think of those who love me, but sometimes I forget to call them lovely.

Now I'm ready, To give the most!
I'm ready, Impossible
I'm ready, I'm finding out that I'm ready!

I'm ready, To give the most!
Now I'm ready, Impossible!
I'm ready, I'm finding out that I'm all alone but I'm watching you.

Born and living indecision. Breaking these hands that I've been given.
Two hands aren't enough to piece what's shattered, but with so many arms around me it doesn't matter.

So I'm ready! To give the most!
I'm ready! Impossible!
I'm Ready! Now I'm finding out that I'm ready!

I'm ready! To give the most!
I'm ready! Impossible!
I'm Ready! Now I'm finding out that I'm all alone but I'm watching you.

Inside Out

Written By: Kris Jung

You are the one we always see where everything just falls through
The faded kiss of memory, something to fall back onto
We know you'll always cross a certain line, We're always waiting
So start the conflict once again, in your hell you'll be debaiting.

I can't remember what it's all about
I got your message but it's inside out
I can't remember what it's all about
I got your message but it's inside out

We are you dirty sidewalk's end
We have come to burn you
You kill yourself for looks, we laugh
So you can show your face now
fFor all the white horses you breathe, you just want to be lazy
Just tell yourself you're always right
..and I'll tell you you're crazy!

I can't remember what it's all about
I got your message but it's inside out
I can't remember what it's all about
I got your message but it's inside out
