Black Cat Monroe

Hardcore Blues addicts! This is Black Cat Monroe. From the beginning the general consensus of the band was and still is to perform nothing but the blues. The Bands lead singer, Bobby Chesterfield Monroe, is rapidlly becoming a much talked about name in the Ohio area blues scene. Bobby's style is reminisent of greats like Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker and his vocal style ranges from a soft whispered moan to a flat out primal scream.

Black Cat Monroe is driven and supported by its very powerful and talented musicians and would not exist if it weren't for their years of practice and dedication to the art. "Lightning" Joe King, aka "King of the Five String", has devoted his life to the pursuit of being a "Bluesman". Joe never turns down a chance to perform the blues, it's his life and he lives it to the fullest. Joe is a talented song writer and along with Bobby's help on lyrics has written most of the band's originals.

"Loose" Bruce Woodring has been playing drums for over 35 years. Well versed in the blues he draws form other styles of music he has played over the years. As other members of the Band he plays in several other groups such as a 50's & 60's Showband, and a Contemporay Christian Band.

"Pianoman" Jimmy Dee brings over 50 years of playing experience with him and if you name the style of music he has probably played it. When not playing the blues he keeps his chops sharp playing, Dixieland Jazz, Big Band and Rock & Roll.

"Showtime" Gary Sands is the Bass and Harmonica Player for the band. Gary is one great showman not only in his playing and vocals but you gotta get a load of his on stage antics. Watching this guy makes you realize this is one show you are glad you didn't miss.
