Black Cloud Island are a Camden-based primal blues rock'n'roll band, formed in May 2011. The duo craft beautifully twisted and dark anthems that explore the romance of the macabre and of fantasies that dare not see the light of day. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and William Blake as much as The Cramps and Robert Johnson, this is a band that invites you into their world and will never let you leave. Black Cloud Island are a two piece who have a very basic set up of one guitar, one drum and a vocal, yet manage to create very atmospheric music. Drawing on blues, rock, soul and folk, the music conjures up dark and twisted, yet ultimately beautiful images of death, sex, longing and love. Every thing from the cds, the videos and the songs themselves have a personal hand-made feel and hark back to the days of magic and imperfection. This is a band that use power and melody to devastating effect and the live show is already getting people very excited.
