Bio

Made up of five incredibly versatile
musicians and born in Mooresville NC,
Black Days of January is a high energy
metal band known for its cocky, melt your
face sound that has been to compared to an
unholy polygamous union between strange
bedfellows; Black Sabbath, Avenged
Sevenfold, System of a Down, Queen and
some Misfits thrown in for good measure.

Prodigy guitarists Dex Wilcox and John
Mills tear up and down the strings with
blistering licks, subtly trading lead and
rhythm positions with deftness. The furious,
intricate drum pounding of Brad Worch
delivers the backbone rhythm and DJ
Paredi, whose playing combines sizzling
raw riffs with nuanced sophistication on
bass. All with the gripping vocals of
Kyle Smith whose expressive range runs
from a towering crunch on Fear of Gold to
the scorched earth demon song Tear It Down
and back to the soaring melody of Remember.

These up and coming metal stars have
played for fanatical hordes all over the
greater Charlotte, NC area for two years.
Electrifying crowds of fans from the Lake
Norman Skate Shop to Amos’ Southend to
Hickory's legendary Wizard, the band’s
live show draws a diverse crowd of both
old and new skool metal-heads including
all ages, creeds and colors. The bands
musical influences are as varied and
wide-ranging as the fans that follow them,
including Metallica, Breaking Benjamin,
Misfits, Randy Rhoads, Dio, Lamb of God
and even Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Broadway
musical Les Miserables.

They just finished recording their second
EP with producer Matt Dalton at 37 Studios
that will inject new life into the
art of head banging. Looking at a release date of September 5, 2010 they are putting together a promotional tour for the holidays.
