Biography

The first question that pops into one's mind when the incredible musical genius of Black Era cuddles your ears is, is this an international band?
Well, the answer is no... not yet.

Formed in 2006, Black Era is pure Rock 'n Roll; their sole purpose being the re-energizing of a rather bland music industry, through injecting it with songs that are trademarked by passion and enthusiasm. Up to date, Black Era has performed at over 200 shows, ranging from small, cosy venues, to the extent of school and festivals. Black Era has shared the stage with acts such as The Narrow, Allen na Desember, eF-eL, Glaskas, Fokofpolisiekar, VanCokeCartel, Straatligkinders, Tidal Waves, Die Tuindwergies, and many more...

In April 2010 Black Era headed off to B-Sharp Studios (Fokofpolisiekar, aKing, Just Jinger, VanCokeCartel, Fuzigish, Foto Na Dans, etc) to record their full-length debut album. The album features 11 tracks that promise to keep your television doubting the era we live in, as Black Era will surely keep you glued to your CD player. They released their first music video in August 2010 with their first single, Terugveg is ‘n Tweegeveg featuring Bouwer Bosch from Straatligkinders. The music video did extremely well and was on high rotation for 3 months. The song was number 1 on Tuks Fm’s most wanted tunes for a good 4 weeks, and reached number 1 on the Top 20 Chart on Puk Fm. They have released a second music video called Ooh la la on 15 January 2011 which is currently on MK.
