That was off the charts. Thank you for sharing so eloquently. Loved what you did on Lanny's song, too.

It is so uplifting to have shared that historical day with others who admire Dr. King, and to honor his belief in peaceful protest. I'm an art teacher. By the way your eclectic sound and message is really catchy.
thanks,
Mary

I love that you're all over the view, because when Blackfeet were performing at the Meadow for Celebrate Healing Concert and the hills were oming with the amplified didge, it occured to me that this was the main act of the day.

Roots, Truth, Freedom, Revolution.
Black Feet is a musical tribe spearheaded by member Whole Tung, which means “Speaks Truth.” With influences from reggae, hip hop, freestyle, and world music, Black Feet brings a sound and message that is universal.
Black Feet Stand for:
Roots: Connecting with our ancestors, all the revolutionaries and truth seekers before us, and drawing upon the ancient wisdom of life and nature. Truth: One Love, One Blood, Seeing through the lies of Babylon System, (society) oppression, consumerism, prejudice, war, pollution, and environmental destruction.
Finding deep truth inside ourselves, and the world around us.
Freedom: Freeing our lives mentally, politically, economically, socially, and spiritually.
Revolution: Taking action to change the world and create peace in our selves and for all life.
The Original members include Buffalo, Oketree, and myself, Whole Tung. Buffalo and I began freestyling and making up songs together as little kids. Our paths have led us to instruments, styles, and sounds from around the world.
The consciousness of our Black Feet Native American Indian heritage represents a deep connection to nature, pure living, ancient wisdom and freedom.
Our name
Black Feet come from walking barefoot, connected to earth.
The word “black” holds meaning concerning our musical inspiration. We have lived to the music of Bob Marley, Midnite, Blackstar, Mos Mef and Taleb Kweli, Black Thought, Black Uhuru, and the soul of black music, tracing the roots back to Africa.
The word “feet” signifies, a journey, a movement, and our roots into the earth.
“My feet are my only carriage.” Bob Marley
