Bio

Black Gardenias were forged in the furnace that is the now deceased prohibition club the Black Gardenia, Soho, London. Formed in 2009 the band’s sound draws from rockabilly and country influences, mixed in with clumps of everything from metal to Phil Spector girl group pop. Fronted by two female vocalists and stuffed full of layered melody and fuzzed out guitars.

Black Gardenias have just released their first extended play Rise & Demise, a trip through the mind of a vengeful female serial killer, following her from her first kill to her own untimely death. Each song full of psychobilly pomp, waltzing Hammond organs and orchestral accompaniments.

A video for the track Norma Jean featuring a séance gone wrong is currently in post-production, the second video from the ep for the song Cloak & Dagger is already in pre-production for shooting in late September, around when the band will be adding the finishing touches to songs they’re demoing for their first full album release.

Black Gardenias have recently supported the likes of Jim Stapley Band, Skinny Machines, Bitter Ruin and Birdeatsbaby. Autumn already has gigs booked with Rob The Rich, Pinehill Haints and the Dillinger Escape Plan, with further touring expected to be announced in the near future.
