Bio
Blackland Prairie is a four-part youth bluegrass/progressive buegrass band in central Texas, made up of Oklahoma Internation Bluegrass Festival Youth Mandolin Champion JP Shafer(15), Texas State Banjo Champion Adam Greer(17), guitarist Steven Krause(20), and bassist Susannah Armstrong(15). This innovative group met at Camp Bluegrass over the summer of 2010. Since then they have begun forming tight harmonies and complex yet precise instrumentation. The group is fusing their influences from numerous genres to build upon the foundation of the founding fathers of bluegrass. Their youthful energy and ever-increasing skill and knowledge of their respective instruments along with music in general, makes them a band you will want to follow over the coming years.
