Bio

Blackline was formed in Boston in early 2006 by singer Steven Slate and drummer Jerry Lyons. They released their first album later that year and toured along the east coast and midwest, selling more than 2,000 CDs in less than two months. The band was picked up by extreme sports company 'Big Sky Xtreme' who featured Blackline as the main music in their popular DVDs, which sold over 20,000 copies.

In 2007 Slate and Lyons moved permanently to Los Angeles where they joined Jared Mark Annis on guitar and Ty Joseph on bass for more heavy cross-continental touring. This lineup of road-hardened musicians has transformed Blackline from a great rock band to a bona fide super group. Their new release shortly after regrouping in Los Angeles, 'Here In LA', became a MySpace sensation, caught airplay on major FM rock radio stations and was featured on VH1 and MTV including the show 'Parental Control'.

In 2008, in the midst of all the touring and recording, Slate developed digital drum software that has become a standard of the music industry: Steven Slate Drums (featured in albums by Papa Roach, Nickelback, P.O.D., and more). In 2009 Blackline got in the studio to record all-new material for their forthcoming album, 'A Cry For Reason' featuring 'Here In La', 'The Void', 'Animal' and 'Closer to you'.
