Bio

Born in a musically inclined family, Earl Stevenson Harden II a.k.a “Earl tha Pearl” b.k.a “E.P.” was simply destined to make his own mark in the music industry. At an early age, “E.P.” observed his older brothers Carlton and Julian Leake collab with gospel artists such as Daryl Coley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, The Clark Sisters, LaShun Pace and O’Lando Draper to name a few. At the tender age of 8, little Steve (as he was known then), experienced his first moment on stage by singing “Go Tell It on the Mountain” at his home church in Memphis Tenn. Throughout Junior High and High School, Earl continued to develop his talents while singing in the choir, playing in the band, playing football, basketball, baseball and running track.
Earl later attended Alabama and Arkansas State and then Bethal College but soon left to become an entrepreneur. Within one month of leaving college, he started A Touch of Klass, Inc., one of the most prominent restroom attendant companies in the mid-south.
In 2002, his brother Julian a.k.a Skeet was recording his debut cd entitled “That Thang” in Atlanta. While visiting and showing support, the engineer began playing one of the up-tempo trax on the album. Although just kidding around, Earl began to freestyle to the track. Skeet heard true lyrical talent and later, decided to feature Earl on two of his trax.
Skeet later made a decision to produce a project on E.P. as well as making him and co-producer/co-writer Just-G business partners with his Indie label…Black Mask Records. In 2005, “E.P’s” first single entitled “Roll That Thang” was recorded. Along with Just-G, “E.P.” has been promoting the mix-tape single on the streets while simultaneously running a company with over a dozen employees and traveling to and fro between Memphis and Columbus, Ga to complete the cd. He then began cultivating his talents in & around his hometown by performing at various clubs and events. Night spots such as Isaac Hayes and B.B. Kings on Beale Street. The Love Lounge and Rhthym Kitchens in Nashville. And he’s opened for National Recording Artist Juelz Santana in Columbus Ga.
For the past two years, "Earl Tha Pearl" has been creating a tremendous buzz from Tennessee to Miami Florida by promoting his mixtape/single. "Roll That Thang" is still being pumped in various clubs throughout the south while receiving rave reviews, thus making "Supastar" one of the most anticipated independent releases to come out of Memphis in quite some time.
“Supastar” combines slammin trax with “E.P’s” unique flow & swagger. Although labeled as “Southern” rap, this cd is So Much More! Take a listen to laid back joints such as “Throw Back”and “Bah-De-Ah” as well as club bangers such as “808” and “Roll That Thang”. So ready or not, prepare to witness a fresh new flava in hip-hop. Sit back and experience..."E.P."!
