"Unlikely in New Orleans"

Being that New Orleans is biased toward Jazz, Zydeco, R&B & Swamp Pop, it is highly unlikely that the arrogant press in this town will ever review a true Rock n Roll band.  It is unfortunate as there are many very good Rock bands from this area which is a hotbed of musical talent.  Black Rain finds ourselves very fortunate to be recognized by the paying public and our peers as much as we are (evidence our play-history).  We will be forever grateful to those who support us, the "REAL CRITICS".  The ones who actually come out and suport REAL ROCK n ROLL!  As far as the "Press" goes, until we branch out of New Orleans & Louisiana, we will always be the red-headed step child of other musical genres.  To all of you who do support us, THANK YOU & WE LOVE YOU!!!!  Keep coming, we're in it for you! - Black Rain

Bio

Black Rain is a high energy throwback to the days when rock n roll was an experience to be felt. Catchy, meaningful lyrics, peppering guitar licks, hook-riffs, and huge bottom. From the New Orleans, LA area, Black Rain is a band to be seen and experienced. The live shows are full of energy and excitement. Influences are all rock n roll greats from Chuck Berry to The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. Throw in Cheap Trick, Robin Trower, SRV, & Def Leppard and mix it up in one good batch of rock-gumbo! What sets Black Rain apart is the soul evoked from their music and the dual "lightning-in-a-bottle" guitar work from singer/songwriter/guitarist Steve Arceneaux & guitarist Tony Sinopoli. BR can go from a raucous table-dancing rock tune to an arena rock ballad in an instant.

Steve Arceneaux-Playing music since age six, Steve is principal songwriter and lead vocalist. Although versed in many instruments, his main love is the guitar. Since the age of sixteen when he would sneak into clubs to play, Steve has been with many bands over the years, both original & covers, including a fusion group in Dallas, TX, jazz groups and various rock bands, and a Crosby-Stills-Nash tribute band in New Orleans. Influences include Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Robin Trower and Rod Price.

Ryan Faust-Drummer, Vocalist. The son of a drummer, Ryan also would sneak into bars at an early age to play. Ryan's hard beating rythyms evoke memories of John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, but the attitude of Keith Moon. Ryan has logged many years on the New Orleans music scene, playing in the French Quarter, in various cover & original groups as well as doing studio work. Influences include Neal Peart, Dennis Chambers, Bill Ward, and Keith Moon.

Mike Chutsz-Bass. MIke has been a bassist "forever", according to Mike. A former instructor, Mike has taught some of the best and hottest players in New Orleans. Mike's influences are in his words, "everybody!" He has played in almost every type of musical genre imaginable, but his true love is classic rock. He has done many studio projects and is an in-demand bassist in the New Orleans area. His monster-chops and incredible fills are truly jaw dropping.
