In the age of autotune and monotony, the BlackStar Bangas are providing the people with a sonic fix for what ails ‘em. Coming straight out of New Orleans, BSB infuses Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, and Peter Tosh with Malcolm, Garvey, and Harriet, proudly carrying on a strong legacy of Black artistry.

Understanding that artists have a larger social responsibility than simply getting money or articulating the extent to which their “swag” exceeds that of their counterparts, the Bangas offer an adept mixture of quality musicianship and meaningful lyricism, all in pursuit of soul music with a message. It’s love and hate; pleasure and pain; struggle, yes, but victory, too. It’s all this. But most of all, it’s real.
