Black Star Hollow

Jack Cash called Brian Marshak on a summer Hollywood afternoon in 2009 with a unique idea; What if we took everything we like in any and all fashions of music and blended them together and created a band with our friends that was like a mixed CD of different ideas. A set of original material where no two songs sound alike and all influences are welcomed in. It seemed like a crazy but really interesting and original idea. The two quickly began work on original material taking everything they liked in rock, hard rock, metal, blues, techno, pop and punk and began fusing them together. After a couple rehearsals, way too many energy drinks, and enough drama for any Hollywood reality show the result became Black Star Hollow. With the band line up of Jack Cash (Vocals), Brian Marshak (Guitar), Matti Jade (Bass), and Sean Davidson (Drums) their EP "The First Cut" was recorded in only 5 days thanks to the band's professionalism and drive. Previously the guys of Black Star Hollow were with bands that included members of Brides of Destruction, Adler's Appetite, AM Obscene and Blacklist Union.

In mid October of 2009 the band's first show was at the world famous Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, CA where they played to a packed house of people all impressed after witnessing their first live gig. Thanks in part to their diverse sound, some fans leaned towards the heaviness and power of songs like New Addiction, Basement and Beware the Dog, while others got lost in the hook and vibe of Lullaby Synthetic, Nemesis and Land of the F-ups. All the while enjoying the material as a whole and witnessing a true musical experience.
Currently the band is in the works booking shows in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Bakersfield, San Francisco and Las Vegas. With assistance from the band manager Shane Carmichael, they are ready to gig, tour and spread their music around the world.
