Black Swan

We all grew up in a town called Lund in the south of Sweden. We have been playing music together for as long as we can remember. Four of us started our first band at the age of fifteen called Low End (....great name), playing mostly Limp Bizkit covers. A couple of years later in high school we started listening to progressive rock and started another band. We were really in to Dream Theater and basically anything that the drummer of that band was involved in. We drew a lot of inspiration from that when we started writing our own material. Then after a while we started listening to more 'mainstream' music again. We decided to form this band and try to write some 'radio-friendly' songs. We entered an online competition sponsored by Mtv, called Nordic Unsigned and won. We got a single and a video contract with Warner Music Sweden. However, things didn't really work out. The song didn't do too well on the Swedish market and they felt the sound was a little bit too American to make it on the Swedish charts. To be honest, everyone in the band couldn't agree more. We didn't really have any experience and the song was one of the first songs we ever wrote. We decided to leave Warner and gain more experience both live and in the songwriting. A couple of years later we had the material, and just a few months ago we started recording our own album (produced by Jonas Reingold, The Flower Kings) wich is being finished right now. Our sound is a mix of everything from Coldplay to Foo Fighters.
Sxsw seemed like the perfect way to try and promote the album and spread the music,
and a great opportunity to play overseas.
